Banksy Webpage

When working toward creating my first fully responsive website, I decided early on that I wanted to make this webpage about one of my personal favorite artists, Banksy.

Known for his stencil graffiti, his work was both amusing and thought provoking. I wanted to embody those aspects of his art by using much of the same images in the design of this website.

This being my first responsive website, I learned a lot from creating it. Not only about one of my personal favorite artists, but also how to create a responsive layout that functioned smoothly.

Heaven and Hell Postcards

Working with type is one of my favorite things. I was given the opportunity to create two postcards, one from heaven the other from hell. I took this moment to exercise my skills with typography.

Starting with "heaven", I created a soft, almost "pillow like" design, cluttered with clouds. The design is comforting and smooth, using blues to create a calming feel.

Moving on to the "Hell" postcard, I started by creating a die cut to give the illusion of a burnt piece of paper. From there I moved on to the typography, Creating a sharp, jagged and mischievous look, using variations of red to convey a hot, hellish feel.

These postcards allowed me the opportunity to explore a variety of options when working with typography.

BluHex

Working with a small group, we were given the name BluHex to base the project on. We had to create what the business was, what it looked like, and most importantly how it would be branded. Working with my group, I was given the responsibility of designing the webpage layout as well as taking part in the logo creation.

BluHex became a Firefox app, It allowed the used to block social media such as Facebook, or Twitter, in order to better allow the user to concentrate on work and ignore distractions.

The design mainly consisted of two elements, hexagons and shades of blue. Working with a fellow designer, we took both these elements into consideration when creating the look and layout of BluHex.

Coast Airbrush

Coast Airbrush is an airbrush e-commerce website. It supplies artists with all the tools necessary to create and paint with airbrushes. This project was a recreation of an existing website.

The current Coast Airbrush webpage has a pretty outdated design. I decided to pick this website up and give it a modern look. Overall I liked the color choices of the original website, so I mimicked the colors but changed the layout.

Many new additions where made, including a smooth intro animation, a new layout, look and feel, new product images, contact forms, and overall navigation.

The new Coast Airbrush felt simpler, sleeker and much smoother.

New-Vo

Creating typography can be challenging, especially when you are left with creating an entire alphabet of letter-forms. New-Vo is a font created with the inspiration of Art Nouveau in mind.

This project required many renditions, and reworks before it was finally complete. The letters follow the structure and feel of Art Nouveau, using swirls, slight curves, and natural flowing lines to create a interesting array of letters.

This project allowed me the opportunity to showcase my ability with typography. Creating an entire library of letters was both a challenge and a delight.
